What the China–Iran road freight depends on
There are no published rates. The price is built from a few inputs: chargeable weight, whether it is FTL or LCL, the cargo class, the origin hub and destination customs, and the season. Freight is quoted on request.
- Chargeable weight = the greater of actual kg and volumetric weight
- FTL is priced as a trailer; LCL is a share of a consolidated trailer, from 1 CBM or 100 kg
- Class 9 lithium, out-of-gauge and chemical cargo carry handling and equipment premiums
- Origin hub, destination customs, peak-season capacity and winter roads all move the price
- The 0.4% invoice-value tax applies only on the Irkeshtam (Kyrgyzstan) routing — it is a tax, not freight
Chargeable weight
The greater of the actual weight in kilograms and the volumetric weight. Light, bulky cargo bills on volume (CBM); dense cargo bills on weight.
FTL or LCL
A full trailer is one price for the whole vehicle. LCL is a share of a consolidated trailer, from 1 CBM or 100 kg, on the weekly schedule. See FTL or LCL.
The cargo class
General cargo is the base. Class 9 lithium batteries (UN3480/3481), out-of-gauge machinery on low-beds, and chemicals with an MSDS carry handling and equipment premiums. Complete vehicles and EVs are priced per project.
Route and season
The origin hub, the destination customs (Tehran West Customs, Aprin or Mashhad), peak-season capacity and Kazakhstan winter roads all affect the rate and the time. The 0.4% invoice-value transit tax applies only when the routing crosses Kyrgyzstan (Irkeshtam).
No published rates. To get a quote, send three things: the origin hub; the destination customs (Tehran West Customs / Aprin / Mashhad); and the cargo data — HS code, gross weight in kg, volume in CBM.
FAQ
Do you publish rates?
No. Rates move with capacity, cargo class and season, so freight is quoted per shipment on request.
Is the 0.4% part of the freight?
No. It is a tax equal to 0.4% of the goods' invoice value, applied only on the Irkeshtam (Kyrgyzstan) routing, and billed as a separate line.
Why is lithium cargo more expensive?
Class 9 batteries need compliant packing, fire-retardant partitioning and documentation, and fewer trailers are set up to carry them — that adds a handling premium.
Does the destination customs change the price?
Yes. Tehran West Customs, Aprin Dry Port and Mashhad are quoted differently; state the destination customs in your enquiry.
